An interactive installation that invited participants to share what made them feel concerned and/or powerless. Responses were initially collected online. As gallery visitors submitted more responses, the exhibit was updated regularly with newer responses.

A Bunch of Crock is a gag reflex. It is about how utterly absurd political campaigns have become. Every election cycle, minorities are forced to play the role of a punching bag.

The exhibited consisted of a poster series, a video installation, an audio installation and an audience participation game. Each poster in the series was based on a quote, fact or an anecdote from the political news cycle in 2010.

Art for Dark Times is a response to a world that has grown especially dark lately. I made this series of glow-in-the-dark posters, enamel pins and stickers to serve as daily reminders, for anyone who could use such a reminder, that we’re not alone in facing this darkness. It started off as something personal just for me but thanks to getting the project funded via Kickstarter, I was able to produce a limited run of each of the items.

Bruised is a series of storytelling installations. Stories about defeat are paired with animated portraits of, what are generally considered to be, cute animals. As each story progresses, the animals begin to display on the outside what the storytelling might’ve felt on the inside. The project consists of 15 different stories. A select few are displayed below.

An audio recording of a short story plays on a loop and the only way to listen to it is through a tin soup can. The trick is that the thread, attached to the can, has to be stretched just the right way for the sound to transmit. The installation requires the audience to do their part if they want to hear the recording.

After the attacks in Paris in late 2015, I wrote and illustrated an essay about trying to make sense of something so tragic. Read the full piece on Medium: #PrayForEverything or: What to Do When Nothing Makes Sense. 

And Everything Was Alright is a short film about a lonely bear who longs to travel to space. In addition to the short film, the story is told through a picture book, the web, and an art exhibition.

The Future is a sculpture that illuminates the overall state of peace or conflict around the world. The sculpture is composed of 206 light bulbs that collectively spell out the word "FUTURE." Each individual light bulb represents one of the world's sovereign states. The base of each light bulb has been laser-engraved with the name of the sovereign state it represents, and the states are organized alphabetically from left to right. Bulbs representing states at peace are lit, while bulbs representing states in conflict are unlit.
